Genetic Variation among Somatic Embryo Clones of Nordmann Fir Grown as Christmas Trees

چکیده

Somatic embryogenesis (SE) cloning techniques for Nordmann fir Christmas tree production have been pursued and refined in Denmark, three SE clonal trials with 201 clones from seeds of 27 trees seedlings bulk harvest Georgia, Caucasus, were established 2014 to 2015. This study was the first evaluate genetic performance these different sites. In addition, (zygotic) normal field compared this study. based on key groups traits production, measured 5 6 years after planting: growth, commercial quality, disorder. Seedlings grew faster had better quality than clones. There significant family effects all traits, indicating that a good also produced average. Growth disorder under moderate control, estimated broad-sense heritability (H2) 0.19 0.31 0.20 0.28, respectively. Quality low H2, ranging 0.09 0.24. Significant genotype-by-environment interactions shown post-harvest needle retention, branch angle, suggesting importance choosing right clone at each site. no interaction height among years. Superior clones, unbred seed source, identified by combining several important traits. Overall, somatic well but slower growth standard seedlings.

Genetic Improvement of Christmas Trees

While seed source selection is an important initial step in the genetic improvement of Christmas trees, continuously returning to seed collections from natural stands precludes any further improvement in genetic quality. In addition, the genetic variation within most seed sources is tremendous and varies from year to year. In order for the Christmas tree industry to move past the current level ...

Somaclonal Variation Among Somatic-Embryo Derived Plants of Olea europaea L “cv. Kroneiki”

Frequency of somaclonal variation in embryogenic calli and plants of Olea europaea L cv.Kroneiki derived from somatic embryogenesis were examined by randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis. Radicle and cotyledon (proximal part) of mature zygotic embryo were cultured in OMc medium supplemented with IBA (5 mgL-1) and 2-ip (0.5 mgL-1). Somatic embryogenesis was induced in calli of radic...

Genetic variation and population structure in Fraser fir (Abies fraseri): a microsatellite assessment of young trees

The island-like populations of Fraser fir (Abies fraseri (Pursh) Poir.) have been isolated since the end of the late-Wisconsinian glaciation on the highest peaks of the Southern Appalachian Mountains and therefore offer an opportunity to investigate the genetic dynamics of a long-fragmented forest tree species. An analysis of eight microsatellite markers isolated from Fraser fir found that the ...

Nonlinear FIR Filter Clones

This paper considers the problem of designing nonlinear FIR filters from a bottom-up approach, in which simple components with known characteristics are combined into more complex filter structures. The specific approach considered here is based on the concept of a clone from universal algebra, generalizing the FIR-median hybrid (FMH) filter construction. Results presented here illustrate the f...
